Battle Kebabs, Fish & Chips Cafe Restaurant

We’ve just had probably the best plaice and scampi ever 😋 Promptly delivered, chips crispy, not greasy and the plaice was enormous 🙀 the scampi was delicious. Very generous portions, all in all a lovely meal. Will definitely be ordering again. We’ve had food from Battle Kebabs before and it’s always been superb 🥰 02/09/23 - Ordered cod, plaice and large chips to be delivered - arrived quickly and, again, was absolutely delicious, even better than last time 😋

These guys are brilliant, my grandad lives local and he loves a good fish and chips. So when we visit he insisted on this place. When it’s his birthday he wants the meal in here. We recently had a meal for his 80th, their hospitality is second to none, they always make a while seating area to fit us all in but still all sat together. Everyone ordered different food kebab, fish and chips, burgers etc, all the food was amazing and cooked to perfection and the lads even gave me a free portion of baklavas. There is toilet facilities on site and the addition of a bar too. There is parking available in a car park behind the shop front and a short stroll across the courtyard are to the restaurant. I highly recommend this place be it for a take away or a family meal.

OK...so the food is great, the fish and chips are made with crispy batter and fresh fish. I am editing this review because I think they deserve a special mention for how lovely they are as people. Last night I ordered collection and then immediately discovered my car had broken down. They changed the order to delivery and even though I had said I would meet the delivery driver at the end of the track (its a hard to find farm they have not delivered to b4) I was amazed when 45 mins later a really apologetic young man knocked on the door and handed me piping hot food. I apologized for the original mix up and he not only tried to refuse a tip but offered to jump start my car while he was there (I gratefully refused as they were really busy). Not only is the food always fabulous but they are just a wonderful community minded business

On holiday when we used this Fish and Chip shop. Wow, so glad we did as it's reputation is deserved. Probably the finest chips I have tasted in a very long time. Crispy, chunky yet soft on the inside with a lovely flavour. Added to that not greasy at all. The fishcake I had alongside them was equally tasty and of the highest quality. My other half had a kebab and sorry to sound like a broken record but yes it was equally tasty. I can highly recommend this kebab and chip shop.

I visited this fantastic restaurant on 5th August with my friend at about 9pm. We had delicious food but we couldn't get home to our campsite at Buckhurst as there were no cabs. These lovely people went over and beyond the call of duty and their delivery driver actually drove us to our campsite. A huge thank you to you all.
